Commercial Lawn

The commercial turf industry is a relatively new agricultural industry in Osceola County. It all started with the herders’ ability to supplement their income when cattle prices fell. As Central Florida began to grow, grass was needed for new developments. Since most of Bahia’s pastures were the same as those used for terraces, it made sense for large farms to mow the grass. In the last few decades, several improvements have been made to lawns.

Protected Country

The area around the Osceola municipality has biological diversity unique to our state. Subspecies of animals common to this region include the Osceola turkey, the gopher tortoise, and the common jay. In addition, Osceola County has the most extensive breeding community of Bald Eagles in the eastern United States. Other animals include white-tailed deer, armadillos, otters, raccoons, skunks,s and many species of birds.

The recommended size is 10 hectares, with trees planted or used in conjunction with other plots.
