A TRIM Proposal Evaluation Notice is sent each August. We can audit your property if you believe it would not have sold at its revalued value on January 1 of the relevant tax year; please call our office to request an audit. If you still disagree with the appraisal after the review, you can go through the appeals process, which gives you a chance to prove the value of your property. The TRIM prompt displays two values. One is the estimated market value or “fair value,” and the other is the appraisal value.
There may be a difference between the appraised value and the “fair” appraisal value due to the 10th Amendment to the Florida Constitution, also known as “Save Our Home,” which limits the increase in the “appraised” value of “homes” or parts of used property.
